• Tuttlingen - World capital of Medical Technology

The city of Tuttlingen is a county town with a population of approximately 33,000 in the south of the state Baden-W�rttemberg.

Around 600 small, medium and large medical technology businesses such as Karl Storz GmbH and Aesculap AG have their headquarters here and are specialists in the manufacture of open surgical and minimally invasive instruments, implants and other medical products.

Long tradition

In 1867 Gottfried Jetter began with the standardized production of surgical instruments in Tuttlingen. Since then, numerous medical technology companies have settled. Starting out in garages and basements, many of these former micro-enterprises have developed to become medium-sized or large companies with enormous know-how.
